Popular Mechanics just pushed this in a promotional email; I usually don't much go for exercise books, but I like the simplicity of the workouts, from what I can tell so far. Very little equipment needed, mainly a dumbbell or two, short and sweet.
The thing is, there's only 23 ratings on Amazon, and hardly any actual reviews.
I already have my routine at a regular gym but would like to have more home workouts.

When you see the phrase, "Fat Burn," avoid it. The single written review states, "The workouts only had 3 or 4 exercises. Had I know this I would not have bought the book." Three or four exercise in 7 minutes and it is going to burn fat?
The way our metabolism works, you would not burn much, if any, fat in a 7-min workout.
Fat molecules form a long chain. In order to be burnt, that chain has to be chopped up into smaller chunks. This process takes time. While that is going on, your body will use carbs as its fuel. The fat-chopping process is called "beta-oxydation."
To burn fat, generally you would need to exercise at a low-ish intensity (intense exercises will make the body burn carbs) for an extended period (the long fat molecule needs to be cut up).
Rather than buying a book, you'd be better off searching YouTube for some simple workout videos from a trainer that you like. There are hundreds of options.
If I had a dollar for every workout "plan" that included the phrase "7 minute" I'd be a wealthy man. Simply put, working out for 7 minutes is better than nothing at all, but it's not going to get 99.999% of the human population in shape where they need to be.
Another in a long line of gimmicky workout products to reel in people who don't know much about working out or are generally lazy who might think "Oh wow, I can get in shape with just SEVEN minutes a day!"
If you're looking for home workouts with minimal equipment, try Kurt's books. I bought 3 or 4 of them back in the late 90s and they still rank up there as favorites.
No, but I used to always enjoy their “eat this, not that”
