I wear nike running shorts mainly--the 'fit-dry' ones I think they're called and a tank. I cannot stand to wear anything oversized--its like running with a blanket over me or something. Needs to be tight. I do prefer the moisture wicking material though it does work!
I never thought I would say this, but I converted to a Nike running skirt about six months ago and I love it. It has snug "boy shorts" underneath so I skip any other bottom layer and is so cool during the hot muggy running months. I took a little teasing from my guy running partners but I just think they are secretly jealous!
Awsun, I buy all my stuff at Academy. They have some really good sales sometimes. But you probably could also get some good deals online.
DeBeez, thanks. I know that my favorite running shoe (that I've discovered so far) is Brooks, but I have no idea who has the best running apparel. I've never heard of that brand, but I'll investigate.
ChessieMom, I exclusively wear Moving Comfort sports bras. I love them. No other brand that I've tried has worked out on me. But that may have been partly due to the fact that I thought I was a 36B when I'm actually a 34B. Whoops. But that might actually be a pretty recent change. I think I weighed about 141 in December and now I'm 127. And I just decided about a month ago that maybe I should invest in some new apparel.
I've never seen running skirts before. I think that might be a fun idea.

I ran for years before I injured myself by not stretching adequately, and now that joy is lost to me. When I did run, I ran in exactly what you describe: shorts that didn't ride up (usually leggings in the winter, and long, loose athletic shorts in the summer), and an adequately supportive sports bra under a loose t-shirt.
Seeing other women on the trails, tracks, etc., I think the most important article of clothing is the sports bra -- too many women bounce along and I cringe to think of the damage they inflicted on themselves.

When I go running, I just wear a regular t-shirt or a sleeveless tank shirt, jogging shorts, ankle length socks, and my running shoes (during the spring and summer).
In the fall and winter seasons I wear just ordinary jogging pants, a sweatshirt or jacket that goes with the pants, and the running shoes.
I don't have a lot of money for the real fancy stuff, so I get most of mine at thrift stores and flea-markets. They work just fine for me.
I'm in the market for some decent running clothes. . . . What brands & where do you get them? Store, online? I'd like shorts that don't ride up & a tank that supports while still being comfortable.
Any suggestions??
Thanks!
