ARNOLD, Mo., Aug. 19 (UPI) -- A 79-year-old Missouri man who began keeping track of his miles at a church track in 2001 said he has logged 40,000 miles on the path.

Bob Wery, 79, of Arnold, said he has walked a total 40,000 miles -- equal to more than 13 coast-to-coast U.S. trips -- on the indoor track and outdoor walking path at the First Baptist Church of Arnold since 2001, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Wednesday.

That adds up to about 13.7 miles per day, everyday for the past 8 years. I wonder how many miles per day someone like a waiter/waitress or beat cop walks. Its probably similar its just that they arent logging their daily miles.

Thats darn impressive for a 79 year old man. Actually, thats impressive for ANYONE!!

I agree! We averaged just over 10 miles a day in Europe last summer, and we were pooped! (And far younger than 79!!)
