Thanks.

Keep in mind that if you have any photos relating to Fairbanks and vicinity you can post here. My intention was to start a thread about Fairbanks photos.

Default Happy to be here.

Hi Ray, enjoyed your photos.

Happy to be here again--trip #4 is finally underway!

Staying at my home away from home on Cleary Summit and savoring every moment. Had a blast at Ice Alaska both night and day, and just having fun bumming around town and the hillside area. Feels so good to be back!

Favorite ice sculpture, The Last Dance.

I slid down the ice slide, quite an achievement for a world-class klutz.

Glad to know that you saw the Auroras

Anyway, there will be more sled dog racing around Fairbanks this weekend, but I don't know if I will go to it. By the way, when you go to the sled dog races you will notice a large number of that make for very interesting photos. These people look great wearing fur hats and coats, and all sorts of colorful clothing. I would love to take pictures of people at the races, but shy away from it because of privacy issues (don't want to intrude on anyone).

The race this weekend:

Thanks Hog, I always enjoy your photos too. Loved the one of the team coming around the bend! Unfortunately, I couldn't rate your post (got the message I need to spread the wealth).

Thanks for the info about the races, Ray; I'm the same with photos and I don't like to post pictures with other people in them unless they've given their permission. When I've posted pictures of restaurants on TripAdvisor, the places always look empty because I pick the photo with nobody in it--I know I wouldn't like to see a picture of me stuffing my face!

Just got back up the hill and it is windy up here; it was so warm in Fairbanks today I'm wondering how fast those sculptures are going to melt.

I like to be back up the hill by twilight but I hope to visit Ice Alaska once more at night later this month. Hopefully there will be something left--I recall in 2011 the temps were in the 20s and some sculptures crashed, so thinking more will this time.
