Hi Everyone,
I found out yesterday that my husband and I will be moving temporarily to Fairbanks in April. We will be there for 3-5 months and need to find Affordable furnished housing. Unfortunately the company we work w/ is only providing $1600 as a stipend and I haven't found much in that price range.
I have been cruising the Daily Newsminor and Craigslist. I was hoping someone might have other suggestions or know someone who has furnished housing. It's a long shot.. but this seems to be a good way to network.
Thanks.

What type of housing are you wanting? An apartment with bedrooms, dishes, a tv and linen? Or are you just needing an apartment with furniture only? There is probably a Rent A Center, that's not cheap but may be more affordable than a corporate-type rental that has everything.

You would be best served calling JL Properties, Inc. - Fairbanks Residential Apartment Properties from their website. They have fully furnished apartments for just the type of thing you are looking with locations all over town.

You won't have to rent anything, they have fully furnished and unfurnished units in Fairbanks for your price range.

Look on craigslist, there was a furnished guest house for $1000/month. They pay heat. It has linens, dishes, furniture, everything you need.

Heck, what a deal! It is almost TOO good to be true. I'm packing my bags now.

Doubtful, unless it's a dump.

I talked to the lady w/ the ad on Craigslist. Very nice women. Pictures on the website made us look elsewhere. Actually, everyone I have talked to while looking for housing has been soo nice. It makes me even more excited to move there.
