I'll be moving to Fargo in a few months, and I was wondering if someone could update me on any news on the Costco that is being built. I know there's an address, but I haven't heard if building has started. Any updates??
The Forum article from last September stated, "Construction will take place over the summer, with the grand opening of the West Fargo Costco planned for Nov. 1, 2012."
I saw this thread and thought i would enlighten you all a little bit.
The new Costco Wholesale in West Fargo is coming along nicely. The planned grand opening date is October 23, 2012. Gear up people, this place is going to be huge, and busy.
I am with Bhaalspawn, especially on the Aldi. My husband got his transfer this Costco so we moved here a little over a month ago. So far, it's expected to open on time! Less than 3 weeks to go!
North Dakota's first Costco openned on time at 8:00 AM on October 23rd at I-94 and Veteran's Boulevard (exit #347) in West Fargo 58078 . This is right by where Sanford Health is building their new hospital.
According to media reports, the 152,000 square foot Costco had over 3,000 applicants for a mere 175 job positions available.
Prior to their openning, we always had to make the 216-mile drive to Maple Grove, MN for the nearest Costco.

Wow. I wonder what percentage of the applicants were from the Fargo-Moorhead area. They probably received applications from most of the people who work at fast food and retail jobs. If those numbers are true, it says a lot about the competition for jobs in this area (much of which might be coming from outside of the area).
