I never said that Dillards wasnt based in the South.
Since when did the bolded states become the South?

Most of their stores are still concentrated in southern states, especially two states: Florida and Texas. CA, as large as it is, only has 3. Check out their locations on their site and you'll see what I mean.

I guess it depends on where you live. In the Northeast, Northern Pacific Coast, and Northern Midwestern States, Dillard's doesn't exist. People in those regions may not identify it as something other than a "southern Macy's" (or even Midwestern) unless they expanded more.

Wow, I thought Macy's and Dillard's were the same store, just with different names in different parts of the country. Like Jewel and Albertsons.

Wal-Mart? Either they are just broke, or they have no care about how their clothes look. Except for kids stuff!! Kids outgrow stuff faster than they can wear it out!

K-Mart? Ummm...kids only..

Target? Smart shopper!

T.J. Maxx? Patient shopper. ( I don't have enough patience for sorting through the racks!)

Sears? Lands End clothing is there...nothing wrong with that!

Macy's Pretty standard place to shop.

Abercrombie and Fitch? Pricey. Status.

Nordstrom's? Love love love it. Can't beat the customer service!

Saks 5th Ave? Fun to shop around...some good deals to be found. Not my cup of tea though.

Louis Vuitton Outlet? Ugh.

Old Navy? Shop there all time. Love it.

H&M? Probably my favorite store for work clothes!
My thoughts are in red.

They're pretty similar, each carries private label brands, along with the usual suspects.
I personally prefer the shoe dept of Dillards over Macys.

No Nordstroms even close to me! I'd rather eat dirt than go to Orlando to shop.
Although I do go there when I go home, theres a really nice store in St Louis.

Ehhh.. who cares... the clothes from all those stores are all made in some 3rd world country by child slaves! You are just paying 100000x markup for the crap at Saks.

The only exception is Abercrombie and *itch... to the person who wears that, I think "instant d-bag".
