OMG, then I would not consider a push up, just a regular, unlined bra. Some of us, though, like a little extra oomph! But I don't think you need it. In fact, it might even be downright uncomfortable.
Hmm. Something to think about.
I've tried on a push up bikini top and I gotta admit the padding was uncomfortable. Maybe I should just stick with regular ones. In fact, I want a wireless one so that the underwire doesn't cut off the circulation. After I take my regular bra off to sleep, I usually massage them to increase their circulation. (no I'm not doing it to masturbate)
They rarely make'em big enough to fit my D-cup self.
I think they're handy for the less graciously endowed, though.
Yeah. Maybe I'll try it @ Victorias secret. The push up bikini I tried was one of those cheapy ones at target. Don't get me wrong I love target, but they're bikini tops don't fit me they fit around the band but my cups overflow. LOL

Yeah, I never found padding to be necessary for even a C cup, let alone a D. Back as a teen, when I was a B cup, I wore lightly lined from time to time. But push-up in a C cup is usually a bit much for me.
I would never go without underwire in a bra (except a compression sports bra), but I never wear underwire in a swimsuit. I also pretty much strictly wear tank suits.
Small amount of lift ones without padding are nice. Not the super push up ones. I HATE those ones and d cups just pop out of them usually anyway. I think the super push up ones only look good on b cups or smaller.
I'm a D, and I wear VS demi-cups on a regular basis, because they give me some nice lift without making me spill out. I do wear a push up when I want more cleavage, like with a lower-necked top. I am just having trouble finding the right one. I got one from VS in the same style as the demi I like (Body by Victoria), but after I've worn it a few times I am not super happy with it. I might try Frederick's ... one of my good friends is pretty stacked and loves their bras.

Yes, shop for bikinis at stores where you can 1) buy the tops and bottoms separately, and 2) buy tops in the same sizing as bras.

I have better luck with using a bra I like plus pads for super cleavage. They come in all different sizes that add just a little or a lot. I prefer the fabric ones. The plastic ones are not comfortable unless they have that fuzzy coating like the outside of an implant. The fabric ones are much cheaper too.

You buy pads separately? Where? Do you sew them in?
