Back in high school, and at times I always admired the beauty that most of the popular girls had. They had so much attention, and I always had that feeling that they were going to be beautiful for a long time.

However after running into many of them, after years I say to myself "oh my, what happened"??? I am not trying to be negative, but 10 to 15 years after high school many woman just dont age gracefully. The irony is that the girl that most of the guys just did not notice or get as much attention as the popular girls in high, look way better than what they did back than and much better than many of the woman who grabbed all the intention. They also tend to be more successful and independent.

I see this trend all the time, and my friends agree with me. One theory of mine is because most women who tend to be apart of that popular clique tend to drink, smoke, and party hard during those early years, become dependent on someone, get pregnant, etc. This is one reason why I think most men, and I believe men are shallow as they are desperate, look for younger women, immediately when they see signs that there woman is aging. Men know subconsciously that many woman whether we all want to admit it or not, do not age gracefully.

As I said this does not pertain to every single woman, but it is something I would like to look into. Men look better when they age, and for women it is the complete opposite.

I think that men DO tend to age better than women. However, there are cases there a man will lose his hair and not look as good.

Hmmm...and you're 30 to 35 y.o. and decided that because SOME women that you went to high school with didn't age gracefully, it's determined that ALL women age awful and men just age fantastically. Ok.

I agree with Donie.

I feel it is a 50/50 ...
I have run into some oldfriends whom were very popular and they still look great and others not so great..just I have seen some girls that were not popular and homely and they either look reallygood or even worse than they did in HS.

Same thing goes for the fellows,

I've seen men get fat and go bald 8 years out of HS. Not everyone ages gracefully regardless of their sex.

Well, besides being pregnant - I look pretty much the same as I did in highschool. My hair is different and I've gained a little weight since I actually eat food now - but otherwise, people tell me I look exactly the same. Most of my friends from highschool still look pretty good - some of them even look better. We are all about 35 now. There are a few that I can think of that look drastically different, and not for the better, but they aren't all female.

Yep... I went to my hs reunion and all the popular chicks are totally nasty and unrecognizable now (the boob job doesn't necessarily help either). I think it's years of damage from unnatural makeup, tanning, hair dyes, and heavy partying.

My crowd from hs looked all the same cuz we didn't subscribe to that kind of lifestyle. Most of us looked kinda nerdy in hs so now we all look better in our mid 30s than we ever did as teenagers.

I think the same applies to the good looking popular football players. Some of them were very cute as teens but now their faces have widened, their jawline is slack, and they have gained serious weight. Their skin is also extremely rough and ruddy now. Virtually unrecognizable... it is amazing.
