Hermes isn't logo'd, but carry one in any decent area in this country and heads will turn, because people know what a Birkin looks like, and that it is uber expensive. So it still demands attention, just quietly.
Hermes is just as guilty of using a "logo" on their items: belts with the big H buckles, watches, bracelets, ties, scarves, their Constance bag.
There's a number of "trendy" stores like Juicy Couture targeted at teens and young adults that I don't get the appeal of. They're as tacky and trashy as any Forever 21, but they charge an arm and a leg for clothes.
