I had my makeup done at a dept. store the other day and the technician told me my face was dry and I needed to use an exfoliant. I usually simply use a wash cloth, but I guess that's not enough.
Any suggestions for facial exfoliant that doesn't cost a fortune?
Here's another homemade that really works---sugar and olive oil!
Don't use the extra virgin olive oil, it has too strong a smell. Just heat up a small amount of olive oil, maybe just a few sceonds in the MW, add some sugar---makes an excellent scrub!
You can also mix the baking soda with a gentle, moisturing cleanser, like Cetaphil. If your skin is very dry - start with a small amount of baking soda.
I did that for years but ultimately ended up prefering the more gentle Arden exfoliant.
I use Philosophy's "The Microdelivery" for daily use and St. Ives' "Renew and Firm" scrub 2-3x a week. I'm young (24) but read a quote once from a supermodel (maybe Cindy Crawford?) that you should exfoliate as much as possible to keep your skin youthful - men exfoliate when they shave their face and generally look younger for their age than women, so I'm sticking to that!
I have very pale, delicate skin, prone to allergies, so I need something that will not be too harsh.
