For the men (or the women who buy for their men), what are your favorite places to buy clothes? I am looking for ideas; I've already gotten a few from this forum --
One recommendation I had from here was , Indochino. I haven't bought from them yet, but I was really impressed with the biz model.
I also am a huge fan of Bonobos, although it is on the pricey side for me, like Indochino.
I have a casual workplace, so Land's End provides cheap, boring, quality stuff. This has been my workplace staple for a while.
Nearly all my shoes are Sperry or Redwing.
What say you ? What are some good recommendations for men's clothing, which can be found anywhere? (Online, or a chain store)
I've never been impressed by the cost/quality of J Crew, Banana Republic, Gap, etc... I'm trying to think outside the box a bit more than that.
I'm practically chained to Banana Republic. One of their secrets to success is to buy overruns of very good fabric at good prices. Truth be known, though, the styles don't change all that much year to year.

Brooks Brothers, Vineyard Vines, Express and Fossil.
But I fish out most of my dress shirts, pants from Calvin Klein, Express and Paul Frederick, both online and both are suppliers to many bigger stores. My frame has shrunk and it's just a waste of money and time shopping in outlets, when all small clothing has been poached. Lord and Taylor doesn't even carry a 14.5 neck. I target the trim fit shirt category and not many make it in good designs.
I've started stitching suits and have been pleased with the outcome
Yeah, right, I buy my shoes after walking in them. It's not like pants or shirts, shoes support your entire body. A bad pair of shoes can ruin an entire day. There's a lot of things about shoes - width, fit, feel of the leather and how it blends with the curve/arch on your feet.
Zappos is wonderful for people who have trouble finding shoes in the store. Like my guys, who wear 14s and 15s.
Walking around the house in them for many hours beats walking in the store for a few minutes, Antlered Chamataka.
Try it some time!
