I have noticed lately that the ladies panties I buy literally fall apart very quickly. I usually buy my undies at stores like Walmart, and I know that their stuff is cheap. But even undies that I buy at other stores, even VS or Soma, literally self-destruct in a matter of weeks.
I am not unusually hard on my knickers. I don't yank them off in fits of passion. I wash them separately in a "lingerie" bag in my washing machine on the "gentle or delicate" cycle. I try to take care of them, but within a matter of a few weeks, they are usually falling apart. Seams coming out, elastic tearing away, etc.
Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me? Can you suggest a better way to buy undies? Please, I don't want to spend $20 for a pair. But I am willing to spend a reasonable amount.

Check out Amazon.com. They have a lot of good deals, so if you know your size, you should be able to find something in your wheelhouse.
I have noticed this as well. I have some Soma pairs that seem to come apart at the seams rather easily. And pairs from Target. No rhyme or reason. Meanwhile I have a pair from gap that is so old and still ok.
I have heard very good things about Amazon Essentials underwear for women, although I, personally, have never tried them. I tend to hand the money over for Calvin Klein when they are on sale - they wash/wear very well and last forever.
I can't say I have this problem. I have a lot of underwear, though. Maybe since I wear and wash each pair less (because I have so many) they last longer? Idk, I just buy from VS and even Walmart lol
I do have some CK I got from TJ Maxx and I like them
Same for me as crd08. I think because I have so many that they don't get washed as often. However I have some Jockey French cut that I have had for years with no issue.
I buy Warner's at JC Penney. They are expensive but almost always on sale if you buy more than one pair. Wash in warm water and don't put them in the dryer and they will last quite a while.
If you buy the support style be sure to get a large enough size as too much stretching will also cause early wear.

VS underwear quality has gone downhill so far so fast.
I have pairs from 10 years ago that are in better shape than some I bought 3 years ago. I no longer buy them because the quality is horrible. Not worth it. They are so thin and fall apart.
I've never had that problem. I can't imagine why you think that VS would have quality items of any kind. It's not a high-end store. If you want quality, go Macy's, Nordstrom's, and that type of department store.
