Because of see-through shirts, and in case of the chance of feeling a sudden chill (if you know what I mean).

Both of the above plus even for relatively flat chested women a bra helps their small breasts stay in one place when walking fast or running (or doing any other exercise).
So they feel like an adult? Also, to COMPLETELY mislead men. Dated a gal who was completely flat chested...I mean nothing...flat flat flat. I couldn't tell until I have to remove her harness / super metallic bra. I was only 20 at the time so I didn't understand what the hell her bra as all about. Looking back now, she was very self-conscious about it. It really caught me off guard. It wouldn't have been a big deal if I wasn't expecting a B cup instead of nothing.

I'm talking about women so flat their chest size is smaller than men's. For example big NFL offensive linemen have huge man boobs but they don't need anything to keep them in place.

Its so they're nipples don't show and they don't look trashy. I've seen small breasted women not wear a bra, its not flattering.
Only thing I can kinda of think thats similar for a male is not wearing underwear at the gym. Allowing your junk to flop around while running and stuff.
