Just curious: if you find a great looking item-good quality, looks good on, a variety of colors, maybe even on sale how many would you buy?
When the local department store gets my bra size in, I buy at least 3 of them; since they only get them in a few times a year, and I buy multiples of tank tops when I find one I love the fit of.
Sometimes I don't know how much I'll love something until I've worn it a few times and then the store is out of my size. I've done this so many times that I resolved to buy multiples even if I only think I'll love it, instead of knowing I do. I thought I really loved some blue chambray pull-on long pants for hanging around the house but the elastic was so wide it hurt. Thankfully I only bought two. I think they're still in my closet.
I was just lamenting this about the cardigan I'm wearing today. I love it, so why didn't I go back and get the black one and the red one?
I had that happen last year. I had a cardigan I really liked, so I went back to the store about 2 weeks later because I remembered they also had it in grey and brown. They didn't have any left. I even checked another location, and online. I love that cardigan, I wear it all the time, I wish I had more.
I bought a great hooded sweater, and I've been beating myself up about not buying another in a different color. I've been careful with it but it still looks a little weary after about 6 months of wear. Sigh. I should have bought another.
It's kind of a gamble I guess. If you buy more than one and it turns out not to be that comfortable, you've wasted money.
If you don't buy more than one and it becomes your favorite whatever, it's probably too late to get another.
