Has anybody here chosen an outfit for thanksgiving night Dinner with their extended family. I usually do not choose what to wear till the 11th hour. But, I am aware that some of you out there are excited and have already chosen your loved apparel for Thanksgiving night. So Please share what you are likely to wear tomorrow evening in this thread.
I meant to say thanksgiving evening. I usually eat dinner late (around 8:15 PM), hence I called it night.
Sorry, just trying to be funny - obviously didn't come across that way. This year, I'll be home alone for turkey day, and will be wearing comfy clothes. IF I were attending a dinner at someone's home, I'd probably still wear comfy, but nice looking clothes (nothing formal).
Stretchy pants LOL.
Doing dinner at friends' house, there will be about 20 people but it will be informal. There will also be three large dogs and several children.
I have a pair of skinny jeans with a little spandex. And a floaty tunic-y top that's got a stylized peacock feather design on it. So probably that.
Jeans. Shirt. Boots. Some people make a big deal out of it. If it's family you see people you never speak to, eat, maybe sleep and watch football. Can't sleep this years. I have had maybe three or four meaningful Thanksgiving dinners in my life. I can remember when I was young my cousins would come loaded on drugs; my mom thinks they were ding drugs at times in our house. Throw in my aunt the Catholic nun and you have yourself a party.
I have to go to a dinner at my mom's friend's house and they have invited several friends over, many of whom I don't know all that well. I do not know if formal wear is required for such occasion's. What do you guys think. Is it OK to wear an oxford shirt, dress pants, and a nice sweater or should I dress up more formally.
If its with family like last year, I usually just wear a premium quality long sleeve Polo with a neat pair of Jeans and get done with it.
And while making suggestions, please keep in mind that the clothes should be long sleeved and keep me warm. Its going to be very cold over here tomorrow night, and warmth is just as important as looks.

Formal wear in this country means a tuxedo for guys... that will NOT be necessary.
What you mention will be fine.
