I am very content with the direction my life is going in, this year I will be doing a lot of business presentations, negotiating, and research proposals face to face. I want to do my best this year, and looking the best that I can is part of this endeavor.
I have very "rough" skin on my cheeks from a childhood and puberty abundant with acne. I no longer get acne but I have deep scars on both of my cheeks. This is an example of what I am talking about:
Thanks to many laser resurfacing treatments, my case is no longer as serious as it once was. Since the scars are no longer as indented in the skin, I feel like going to a cosmetics place like Sephora so that they can match my skin color to their products and suggest the best combinations to use to best conceal acne scars.
How often do men do this? Is there anything about makeup I should know beforehand?
You need to drink at least eight 8 oz glasses of water a day. And you need to use a Clarisonic in your daily skin care regimen. Concealer is not going to help with your situation.
I see, thanks for the input. Do you think there is any combination of cosmetics or makeup product types that could help camouflage the scars, even a bit? A flatter surface?
If someone like Cassandra Bankson can cover a face full of acne, there must be something I can do?
If you've had laser treatments, you probably have a dermatologist or skin tech who has worked on you/with you. Why not ask them, since that is their specialty?
No matter how well matched the makeup is, it's still makeup and rather than listening to your presentation, people are going to be wondering, "Is that guy wearing makeup?" Like the above-poster said, talk to the dermatologist about whether there's anything else you can do.
FWIW, I think acne scars give character to a person's face.
There probably is some sort of cosmetic you can use however, I think the best advice has been given to talk to your dermatologist and see what they suggest.
If/when you have more laser resurfacing treatments that should help the situation more unless it has been recommended that you not have any further treatments.
Try a TCA chemical peel. I had some deep scars on my face and after using it 2x, the scars have faded. It did not happen overnight, but after about a year when I looked at my old photos and compared them to myself today, they have definitely faded. I bought mine from www.makeupartistschoice.com. The testimonies you read on their website are true because it has helped me as well. I now maintain my skin with their products such as their lactic peels, cleanser and argan oil. I simply love their products and I'm so glad I finally found something that really works for me.
Concealer is not good at hiding scars; I use it for uneven skin tone.

Just another of the opinion that concealer or makeup won't hide the scarring. If anything, it would bring all kinds of unwanted attention to you and your skin. I have a feeling you think it looks much worse than it really does. You indicated you've already had laser treatments.
Trust me on this. Out in the real world, nobody cares at all about your skin. At all. It's an issue for you & you alone. You've done what you can about it, so move on or (not to be harsh), get some counseling if you are still troubled by it.

Exactly. I would not pay too much attention to acne scars. BUT I certainly would notice a man wearing makeup.

If you use makeup, everybody is going to see it an know that you are trying to hide your scars. It will make you appear insecure and self-conscious.
I agree with the poster who said that no one else is going to notice.

I would not pay too much attention to acne scars. BUT I certainly would notice a man wearing makeup.
