We've all seen images of beautiful people. Most of these images are those that society at large wants us to like. Skinny girls who are desperate for a good meal and are starving. Bones protruding from their unelastic skin. Guys with stupid freak hair that has more oil then the leak in the Gulf of Louisiana all sporting smiles faker then a government speech..
Miss America pageant. I can walk through any shopping mall and find 100 women more beautiful then any of those 52 contestants in just one hour.
Of course beauty is important. Being beautiful means power and success more easily. Beautiful people make more money and get out of traffic tickets. Strangers are more likely to help a beautiful person rather then a looks challenged person.
Do you remember the old song by Ray Stevens "Everything Is Beautiful - in their own way"? These lyrics almost suggest that we are all Goddesses. And in some strange way, we are all beautiful.........in our own way.
What is a beautiful person to you? What attracts one to you?
To me a guy whose smile reaches his eyes, and who looks me in the eyes. I don't like to be checked out, if you know what I mean. I want someone to connect with me by making eye contact. If I catch a guys eyes wandering downward in the first few minutes, that is a turn off. The face, eyes, and smile can make anyone beautiful...their goodness can shine through.
What is a beautiful person to you? What attracts one to you?
Since this thread seems to be about physical beauty only, I wont waste my time or anyone else's time going off topic about personality or whats on the inside, blah blah blah.... so..........
A beautiful woman to me is FIT with a FLAT stomach, toned legs and round bottom. Kim Kardashian immediately comes to mind.
What attracts me? Small waist, flat stomach, round bottom, muscular legs/thighs, femininity.
tall, broad shoulders (but not beefy), muscular and defined (but more in an athletic way than bodybuilder way), dark hair, light green/blue eyes, slightly tan skin, sexy lips, a hot voice, etc.
Are you talking physical beauty or inner beauty? Or both?
Good question. Since the question says, what are you attracted to, I'll answer that.
Attraction is 3 parts.
Part 1: Physical (roughly 17%, and akin to the cover letter when getting a job)
Healthy hair
Eyes that sparkle when she looks at the world
A woman that smiles a lot
Nice legs. Athletic and tanned, in khaki shorts, would turn my head everytime
Part 2: Personality (roughly 33%, and akin to the resume)
I like Balance:
Funny but not jaded
Smart but not pretentious
Confident but not conceited
Lots of friends and family but makes time for me
Has a good job but not a workaholic
Passionate but not unruly
I also like a woman that cares about her community, likes children, has lots of interests, of course likes sports and nature. And she better like my dog too.
Part 3: Chemistry (roughly 50%, and akin to the job interview)
A woman that communicates well.
That makes me want to be a better person. Makes me forget about all other women. That I would do anything for. I think this section is pretty self explanatory.
From everything I've read there are certain physical characteristics that are universally regarded as being physically attractive. This would particularly apply to the face. Beauty is difficult to define but we know it when we see it. Almost everyone would regard the face of Angelina Jolie as beautiful. As far as men are concerned George Clooney also was blessed with the genetics to be very attractive. I'm using movie stars as an example because we're all familiar with them but there are everyday people you see at the grocery store or shopping mall who are fortunate to have these physical qualities.
As far as the question "Everyone is beautiful?" is concerned my answer is that clearly they are not and of course I'm only talking about physical beauty. I believe that our perception of beauty is wired into our brains as a result of evolution. They've done tests with babies in which beautiful women spend time with them as well as women who would not be considered attractive and even babies who haven't been influenced by any concept of beauty appear to want to spend more time and are more interested with the beautiful women. That's just the way it is. Most people are rather average and still have a certain amount of attractiveness but the lucky few who are healthy looking and possess natural beauty will always be noticed by the rest of us.
i think there is something physically beautiful in every person. i also feel that no one is all good or all bad. there are people who look beautiful but are very ugly inside.
what is beautiful to me? sincerity in every way. the more you get to know someone, the more you see how pure their heart is, the more beautiful they become in my eyes.
