I am wondering anyone particularly women use parasols in the summer time to protect themselves from sun as well as a fashion accessory. I know that it is common for women in China. But is there anyone here in the USA or other places that use them as well?
I see a lot of Hispanic ladies walking around with umbrellas to and from work. Usually people who are using public transport or pushing a stroller. Most Asians here in Southern California don't use umbrellas but they'll wear metal welder mask and hats though. I guess that's one of the differences our car culture makes.
I've known a couple of Dallas women who have bought parasols while visiting my town because they can't find those designs at home, where they use them regularly. And I saw a few at a minor league ballgame recently.
Im thinking of doing that very thing this summer as I notice my skin gets quite dry even when using sunscreen so Im looking for one . also as for some being used at ball games I would think that would aggravate someone trying to see the game sitting behind that person ...just a thought . But yes I am looking .

At the ballpark where I saw them, there were enough empty seats that the ladies moved to a place where they could see the game without interfering with others' views. I realize that's not always an option.
Despite the fact that I'm not Caucasian, I do easily sunburn and have sensitive skin and I'm still on Epiduo. So I do avoid the sun at all costs and if possible, I'll wear a cap/hat and use a parasol.
My roommates mom gave me a parasol from her trip back to China. My roomie told her mom I liked them and she brought me back tons of teas and a parasol
