Because the talent agencies want to make money and this good looking dude comes with his own publicity. It's wrong on so many levels but not surprising.

I'm not surprised. This world awards good looks. That's a fact. Look around you. How many everyday people are having surgery to look better? Why are they doing it? Mainly because this world rewards them for doing it: compliments, attention, higher paying jobs, mates, etc., etc. You name it, good looks will help you get it.
Now, fast forward a few years to the time when his self destructive tendencies catch up on the outside; it's all downhill from there. There won't be anymore "leg up" opportunities for him.

I was reading an article online about how mug shot guy's wife was livid about the attention he was receiving. The article also stated something about how he was changing his life. Riiiight. That's why he just got pinched on an illegal weapons and gang charge, huh?
Hey now... Ice T turned his gang life into a reasonably successful rap career. He might do something with this. You never know.
Ice T is an actor too, in those 90s "hood movies." Don't forget Ice T has been on Law and Order:SVU for almost 2 decades now. And he has a heavy metal band. I'd say he has done pretty well for himself.

I vote yes on this one. I mean, I surely wouldn't want him for my boyfriend or anything, but let's be honest, being a criminal leaves you few ways to make money legitimately. Particularly family supporting wages, and many people continue their criminal lives because there are no other options. Hopefully this gives him a fresh start to make enough money to feed his family. Which could be the push that keeps him from committing more crimes.*
