I have only used electric razors and I am in my 60's. I used corded Norelcos most of the time and now have a Remington corded. I don't buy the expensive cordless as I always shave in the bathroom anyway. Also, the local repair shop that I used to used closed so there is no one to service them like the old days. Therefore, I buy the cheapest and then throw it away when it stops working. You can try using light gun oil to lube the rotors but now they may be sealed. Anyway, that is my story.
I have one of the Braun Series 7. I've also used the Norelco rotaries. No real performance difference. None of them "shave as close as a blade" no matter what they say, and at least on my sandpaper beard the heads don't last as long as they say.
ive tried them all, from 30.00 to 180.00 el. razors, not a heck of a lot of difference
they all dull,,,some you can get new heads
for 35 yrs ive been shaving, and have evolved into using a disposable edge on my neck and cheeks, and an el. shaver around my chin and under the nose- where a disposable would easily nick
I also use shaving cream
with a disposable and an electric
also shave after a shower,, or in the shower,,, after hot water on the face
I've been using the Norelco 3 headed one for years, they are very durable and give a good shave. I've been using mine the past 10 years and haven't even replaced the razors in it.
