Zoot is the original and only spelling. Zuit is incorrect.
It's Zoot Suit Riots, Zoot Suit (musical), "A Zoot Suit (For My Sunday Gal)" (song), "The Zoot Cat" (Tom and Jerry cartoon), "Zoot Suit" (Who song) ... etc.
From everything I've read, and even sites of places that sell them; zuit, or zoot is interchangable, and zuit is the original word from a certain dialect, per the wiki page. To relate; I use the word Mopar, correclty, and originally it was More Power, but with certain people who drag race, it became Mo Power> Mo powr> Mopar.
I have to say I'm curious where you'd wear this? You've said you wouldn't wear it to work or to a club, but for going out and being classy. Where does one do that?
I meant the young people type hip/hop, rock, or country type clubs- a Jazz club, where normally you'd dress less casual, sure.
They're really bulky, OP. Look at all the extra fabric in the pants, and how it flaps around when moving, in the Cab Calloway video. It balloons out, then comes in tight at the ankles. Seems like it would take some getting used to, walking around with all that bulky wool fabric.
They don't need to be wool, new ones are made just like any old suit.
Lol, I wear a size 15, dress shoes are actually pretty easy to find in my size.
