This. Plus women do feel better if they think it makes them look better. I prefer the natural look on women.

Thats the thing, they think it looks better but in actuality it doesnt. Very few women I noticed know how to apply the right amount to create that natural look without actually being natural.

The reasons are irrelevant.

If a woman feels the need to put on lots of makeup to feel accepted (or better about herself), that, in of itself, is unattractive. It speaks unfavorably to her upbringing / character.

Jennifer Garner had good comment on this subject, below.

Quote:
'What my mom did that I valued so much was to not place beauty high on the list of priorities,' Jennifer revealed.
Mrs. Garner goes on to say that this helped her to become a well-rounded, confident woman. If, as a man, you marry a woman that values superficial things, then she will (by example) instill those same values in any future daughter she/you might have. That's not something I would want for a daughter.

So should women not wear makeup on a first date just to keep expectations low?...it can only go up from there.

Yeah, right. They want a girl to look "natural" but will drool and fall all over themselves when they see some plastic broad with DDD boobs, a wig, caked in makeup, and in micro minis and 6" stilettos.

Yep, men like a "natural" look alright!

Oh, so you want them to apply makeup the way YOU want! lol! Wow. Arrogant, much? You're not into the NATURAL natural look, you're into the fake natural look, bc you think they're not attractive without it, but you don't want them to use too much either, bc you think that's ugly, too, you want 'em to apply it just right.

Dude, it's not all about you. I'm ok with no makeup, or whatever light makeup. But I pay more attention to their personality. I learned early on that if you place too much importance on looks, you can get burned. Maybe if you gave yourself a chance to get to know these women, you might see them differently. Or maybe you didn't think they were that interesting in the first place, and that's more what this is all about. You didn't hit it off, so you ended up focussing on flaws, like too much makeup.

Just move on, man. Don't dwell on it, like it's a big deal. Get over it.

You don't speak for me. I can tell when my wife has make up on for when we are going out. It makes her look like she is dressed up and more importantly it makes her feel good. Depending on where we are going and what she is wearing may determine how she makes her self up. The time she dressed as a clown would have been too much for going out to eat but she made a great clown. To me she also looks great without any make up on and after 40 years together I have seen her totally natural.

Some women look totally exotic with strong make up and some put on too much but they are to me a small minority. I can believe that most women do not know how to make themselves up exactly like you think they should especially if they do not even know you exist.

As far as being a high maintenance wife if she wears make up, my wife doesn't use it when she is gardening, renovating or building sidewalks only when we go out and she is worth it.

After all your posts I still am unable to see why you would not be able to tell her. You told all of us that you will not see her as a gf just because of this, I think she is lucky. Blush or any bit of eyeliner shows, get over it. Too much can be tactfully spoken sbout, shallowness not so much.

Just remember that in all your posts you are assuming both that all men have your preferences and all women dress for men. 5 hat is not the real world.

It's not natural to smell like flowers or musk or vanilla. Some of you guys who want a natural woman would probably be appalled by an actual natural woman.
Agreed. Let some guys run into a woman who doesn't shave, ANYWHERE. That's natural. Our bodies have hair for a reason. So why shave it all off? Hairy arms, pubes, legs, etc. Hair is one sign of puberty to show someone actually is an adult, not a toddler. But safe to say many don't care for hairy women.

So men, if you expect women to shave her legs and pubes, ya already don't like them all natural.

Do you really think those women are real? Men know they have been photoshopped like crazy, and only one woman in 10,000 even gets close enough to photoshop. If women set themselves up to compete with a computer image, they are crazy!
