Mean with weak chins look good with beards. Some of those examples are cherry-picked for that. It by no means "proves" that most men look better with facial hair.
You are right of course on all accounts. I am just biased to beards hence my vote. But really it's not true. Just like anything else when it comes to looks its subjective and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm bald, and shave my head. Because of this, I'm convinced I look better with some facial hair - I typically have a short goatee. This off-sets my bald/shaved head.

When I had all of my hair, however, I was usually always clean-shaven.

Mod cut: Orphaned (quoted post has been deleted).

With the giant beard trend, I hardly think men are being held down and forcibly shaved nowadays, so I'm not sure where you're getting all this "conform" stuff. Men have gigantic beards, no beards, shadows, goatees, treasure trails, 5 o'clock shadows, very very long beards, just a mustache, mutton chops, you name it.

Mod cut.

Indeed, ironically enough, the only person I HAVE seen basically telling men what to wear on their faces, is you...right down to the title of the thread. Then you support this stance with photographic "evidence." NOBODY but you has basically directed men on what to do here, even unilaterally stating that "most" "look better" that way.

You don't see the irony?

Live and let live, already.

I don't like bushy beards and moustaches. Trimmed versions on some buys, sure. In most cases I refer clean-shaven.

What I really like are sideburns, but not bushy.

some of the so called "beards" are nothing of the sort, mostly "5 o'clock shadow" or minor stubble, TBH it just looks scruffy, either grow a real beard or shave!!!
I have a full beard-think "ZZ Top" !! I haven't shaved or had a hair cut for over 30 years.
