I recently lost some weight and last summer, I picked up some cute dresses to wear to work and wear casually. They looked great in the store, but when it came time to wear them, I felt a bit "exposed". What do you wear under a dress? Fabrics are so thin these days.
When I was young, my mom insisted on a slip. I don't think those are done any more, nor are they practical for a sundress. I bought "slip shorts" and used those, and they worked out pretty well, but I wondered what my options are.
Also, pantyhose aren't really a thing any longer, are they?

Yes, they still make slips ... in all lengths. That's what I wear.

I wear slips and those slip shorts. Sadly Gap used to have awesome slips, but they stopped making them. Those were my favorite modern ones! The Jockey ones are OK.

OP: Choose items that are practical and comfortable for you not what a trend is.
Wearing a slip is still done by many and Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge brought pantyhose back into daily wear.

I wear slips and slip shorts, too (sometimes at the same time. )

Slips are definitely still worn. I buy them at www.herroom.com. I get half slips, but full-length slips are available, too.

Well, for herself maybe. I don't see pantyhose as daily wear catching on widely. Or at all really.

I wear slip shorts as well. As a child, I used to wear bike shorts under my dresses, so slip shorts felt like the most natural thing to wear now.

The feeling of being exposed might be because its not something you are used to wearing. I wear dresses year round, but if it is cold out I wear them with tights. Once it starts getting warmer out and I ditch the tights, I always feel more exposed the first few times.

I tend to wear skirts a lot in the summer so I go with halfslips. Thanks to Forum_browser for that link. Halfslips are getting more and more difficult to find.

I love half slips. They help the skirt slide over the body, instead of tugging. In the 60s everybody wore coulottes. I guess you call them slip shorts now, but I have not seen them for sale in years.
Around here, children wear uniforms, and I would think allittirls would want slip shorts, so they could be active without worrying.
