I'm pretty practical. For years I didn't buy things for myself as I was raising children, and children always came first regarding shoes and clothes etc. in my household.
Now, I buy shoes seasonally. This year I bought new snow boots, first time in years as my others were looking pretty rough....I'll save those for around the house shoveling show.
I usually buy new summer shoes every summer because I prefer cloth type summer shoes and those wear out or get garden stained....Stained are relegated to yard work.
Depends. I just purchased to pair I had been searching for for TWO years. Found them both new in the box with tag on Ebay from the same seller. Nike Lunarsandiators. I won them and was just sooo happy. $400 for both. Ouch.
I'm not buying any shoes the rest of the year. #goalrealized
Interesting -- I have to ask since I googled it -- why that shoe? What made it so special to you? Not judging, just curious. I'm sure it's pretty rare / unusual so is that part of it?
Photo for those curious:
As for me I bought four pairs of shoes recently from 6pm. I don't usually buy more than a couple pair a year but a lot of my shoes are 5-10-15-20 years old and have gotten pretty worn out so I've been replenishing some of them lately.
The oldest pair of shoes I have is an original pair of Chuck Taylors my dad had as a teen. They are just as comfortable (or not comfortable) as the modern ones. They really haven't changed a bit.

Bought a pair today, 2 pairs about a month ago, and snow boots right before Christmas. I probably bought about 6 pairs last year. Buying a lot of shoes is a recent bad habit. Prior to the last couple of years, I had a lot of old shoes.
