Those look a little more like bell bottoms to me. I like them better than skinny jeans on men, that's about it. As for boot cut ....... I see them in the stores all the time, and have for years, nothing new there.

Worn out jeans at the factory are made by dressing up a "doll legs" in the jeans and then using a sanding block on the outside of the areas where the worn look is supposed to be.
So not really a tormented way of doing it.
Essentially they remove the dye from the surface of the fabric.
You can do this yourself by buying the foam sanding blocks at Harbor Freight and then sending the areas "you" like to look old and worn.
I have to shorten the legs of all my pants (I have short legs ...) so when I do that on my boot cut jeans, I cut them off at a slight angle.
The back of the leg is then 2 inches off the ground and one inch above the top of my foot in the front.
So no wrinkled pant legs on the bottom.
They hang nice and straight over my boots!
I wear boots all day every day.
I have been wearing "boot cut" or "straight leg" jeans for most of my 77 years.
"fashion" or "style" means nothing to me; I wear what makes me comfortable.
If any "fashionista" doesn't like what I am wearing, all I can say is "GO AWAY and leave me alone!"
I wore real bell bottom trousers, both dress and working, for many years. They were the required Uniform Of The Day!
Ooh! I just bought a new pair of bell bottoms from Free People I am ecstatic about!!!
