-- with '10' meaning that everything you wear is straight out of something like Vogue and not more than a year old, and '1' meaning that you wear nothing but thrift store clearance items.
(I consider myself about a 2.5 because although I regularly buy new clothes, 95% of them are classic styles, and I mostly live in under $40 jeans and non-designer tees.)
When I was younger (and before kids) probably an eight. I couldn't always afford the good stuff, but I was good at finding cheaper knock offs of the latest trends.
Now, as a woman of a 'certain age', I'm probably a two. I'm all about cost, comfort, and buying what I think is fun, not whatever is trendy.
When I’m dolled up, I’m an 8-10. I’m stopped by strangers (younger, my age and older) and complimented on my attire and style. And yeah, I tend to be in trendy/current high fashion items (Net-a-Porter, NM, BG, Saks, etc.).
But if you saw me in every day clothes, I’m a 1. For instance, today I’m in Hudson jeans, Lowa boots, an Old Navy waffle knit thermal (I love their weight) under a 30 year old USRowing, naturally distressed sweatshirt, and carrying a Balenciaga Work.
Probably a 3 or so, I guess. Solid colored t-shirts (usually black, gray, or blue), jeans almost always, and plaid button down shirts untucked, either by themselves (buttoned up) or over a plain white t-shirt (unbuttoned). So, whatever that is. Classic? Boring ?
In regular clothes perhaps a 5. My clothes are classic, coordinated, and stylish. When going out and about, I usually make sure that everything is coordinated, fits properly, and looks attractive. Nice, but nothing amazing.
When I'm dressed up I am 8-10, with very tailored, coordinated, and smartly accessorized outfits. I am not into trendy looks, however. I prefer very well made classic styles.
No idea. I always thought Jennifer Aniston had style. I'm like a male version of her. I like a lot of solid colors. Black, navy blue, red, white, light yellow. I dress young for my age. Solid colored turtle necks, sweaters. I have lots of hoodies. Somebody who dresses with a lot of designs or colors would probably not like my style. The only patterns that I'll wear is usually with a flannel. I'm wearing a black pair of Van's old school right now. Age is just a number. Like I said in another thread, I dress more like a college student than a 43 yr old.
I can be pretty fashionable when I want to be. I get a good number of complimeents on some of my outfits and I was stopped by 2 people this last weekend to compliment me on my shoes. Some of my outfits are 9-10 while others are 6. Overall I'd say 7-8.

I don't pay attention to current fashion, but definitely have my own style that occasionally gets compliments.
I'd give myself a 2 on the fashion scale, but an 8 for style.
