Yesterday I pulled the trigger on a couple items I've been eyeing for months; one is a jacket that caught my eye in March when it was $450, and is now $134. The other is a pair of jeans that caught my eye at $185, and is now $55. I don't *need* either item, though both could be cool and/or come in handy when I'm no longer stuck in the house (or, worst case, next spring).
My question is, is it inappropriate to be buying non-necessities at a time like this? Or maybe it's actually a public good, supporting the economy a little bit? I feel a little guilty, but I also feel like it's stupid to pass on really good deals for things I'd probably buy later anyway and which will probably cost a lot more.
Anyone else having similar thoughts or experiences?
I ordered some clothes on line from Chicos off the rack. Since I can't get to the actual store. My mom had given me a gift certificate at Christmas time. I bought some stuff for the nicer weather. I would prefer to go and try on the clothes but with this pandemic they are closed. Crossing fingers that they fit and I don't have to return because too small or too big. I should have them by Monday.
Depends on how you look at it. I know a lot of people are relying on deliveries so it adds to the list but they're prioritizing essential items anyway. I mean, if they're offering a discount, then it would be dumb to not take it, right? I got half off a pair of Nikes and I needed a new pair of sneakers. Returns are a pain though. I sent a return to H&M on April 2nd and they're still waiting to process it.

I don't see anything wrong with it......you're helping the business & you saved some money as long as you can afford it. I like to try stuff on tho.........so I haven't really thought about it.....my online purchases have been stuff like toilet paper.
edit: it might be a fun time to buy new lingerie tho.........
No. It is doing a good deed for my favorite brands and helping them out in a time of need. Competition is intense right now I need to help out the ones that deserve the best.

I don't think there's ANYTHING wrong with buying anything you want. I mean, not all of us look good in burlap and ashes, so buy what you like. ;-)
Me personally...since I've been working from home, thinking that at any minute, my company will decide it's silly to pay me to work from home...I've been concentrating on paying off my credit card, whether than buy too much fun stuff...but that's me.
I'd say as long as you're not going around coughing on people in stores, who cares
This! We all need clothes, no?
