I see many types of facials offered at local med spas. I’ve never had a facial.
What facials do you find worthwhile for someone in their 40s?
How long do they last?
Also, do you need to tip for facials and similar services?
I love a good facial. Some treatment are better than others. A good one will deep clean your face. Extract any Millia or blackheads if that’s allowed in your state. Deep moisturizer, maybe a steam. They massage the face and neck with product. Your skin will feel extra baby smooth for a day. I’ve had mediocre facials and the face doesn’t feel as smooth. Pick a treatment that sounds good to you.
Yes, you should tip. And a good facial depends a lot on your individual skin's needs. For some, it involves extraction. That's not the case for me - for me, it's additional moisture and more anti aging. I've also done microneedling and highly recommend it as well. I have good skin. I get a facial about three or four times a year and I never regret spending the money on it. Do it for at least an hour. My results last longer than one day and overall I'd say that regular facials just make one look better over time. Maybe I'm wrong about that, I don't know.
Totally. The best thing to do is to have a consultation before the facial so you two can discuss what is best for you. Nice way to pamper yourself. I do one every 3 months and yes, you tip!!
I got a basic facial yesterday. I had a Groupon deal, but the full price was $55. I guess it was nice, but she didn’t do anything I couldn’t have done myself.
There was steam on my face.
She washed my face with cleansing milk.
I think she used toner.
She exfoliated my face.
She left a face mask on for 10 minutes.
She did a facial massage, and I think that she moisturized during that.
I’m not seeing how this was worth it.
Is there a better facial out there that does something else?
maybe the more experienced ladies here can give the OP (and me) a name for their facials?
I had one done once (chemical peel, I think), and she just put cream in my face that itched. Took it off and sent me home. My skin was supposed to peel but never did. They said I must have thick skin.
