We should all be rethinking many things we use daily... there are many more things in cosmetics that we should be looking into and they all get passed as safe.... Formaldehyde. yes that stuff used in funeral parlours and known to be very dangerous is used in products .. and why dont we know? because some companied change the name of formadehyde to fool us... check your makeup. hair care and nail varnishes... DMDM hydantoin, methylene glycol, quaternium 15, and 3 dioxane, just to name a few.

These can be found in all types of skincare products. Some nail products, such as polish and remover, can have high concentrations of formaldehyde in their formulations and release vapors that we can potentially inhale, says Steinmetz. (Nail hardeners may also contain the liquid version of formaldehyde, known as formalin

Check also for parabens under other names usually ending in BENS. were being fooled constantly by cosmetic companies and it s not only cheaper companies.. even the top ones are at it .. and some even get round hiding some ingredients by just having "perfume" on the list... this is an easy way for them to hide what actually in the cosmetic..

Random vent: I wish all the fun beauty products were innocuous without any side effects.

It sure was alot of work reading filler to get a look at some of the products but that sure is alot of mercury! Grams! Not trace amounts.

Probably mercury compounds but dumbed down articles don't expect that anyone even understands chemistry even at a high-school level. And want to keep it that way.

Thank you for compiling this list. This extremely long, and exhaustive CNN article failed to mention the main important point - which products to avoid.

Doesn't it occur to anyone that a chemical powerful enough to change the color of your skin can't possibly be safe?
Based on nothing, I'm wondering if this woman is a member of Minnesota's huge Somali or other ethnic populations, who wouldn't have been part of the American Black is Beautiful movement that happened before they immigrated or even were born.
