Was out and about running errands earlier and there was a woman wearing yoga pants which had faded to become almost sheer and she may as well have worn nothing at all for all that was on display. You could see cellulite through them as she walked! How is this appropriate to wear in public? Who checks themselves in the mirror before heading out and sees nothing wrong with this? When these first started becoming popular, most women wore them under something or had a long shirt covering their hips.
My wife has a few pairs. She wears them to *gasp* YOGA CLASS though, imagine that!! She can't understand it either.
The only time I wear leggings/tights as pants is when I am wearing a shirt that's very long, like, mid-thigh. They're not faded/worn/nearly see-through, though.
I mean, other people can wear whatever they want. But no, for me, it's not appropriate
I have been wearing them when I go out to the chiropractor and I have gone places after. I used to cringe when I saw women going around in yoga pants but wth. Sometimes if you are out and have gone to an exercise class or like me, the chiropractor, you just don't wanna go all the way back home and change.
For the people who wear them as attire, that is a different story.
The thing with that is we do not know if they are wearing them as attire or have been exercising, etc, so probably shouldn't judge.
I've noticed women wearing them, trying to pass them off as slacks in the workplace. Not supposed to wear them at my work but they wear a longer shirt to try to hide that they are yoga pants but I catch a glimpse of the band and can tell. Someone I know admitted to wearing them to a job interview! I don't own any but own some that are sort of like them (athletic) I wear them to yoga or to do yardwork/housework not out to dinner, etc. Yowsa. If I leave Yoga and need to make a home depot stop maybe, but they are NOT skin tight or see thru, low-rise, etc. They cover plenty and go all the way to my ankle and are loose fitting, etc. I can't believe the see-thru though, that is insane. But, I've seen plenty of people wearing non-yoga attire that is just as inappropriate. A woman in shorts squatted down in the store to reach to the bottom shelf and about three-fourths of her butt was showing, falling out the top!

Maybe she likes to flaunt her body in public. Some people enjoy that type of attention.

It's appropriate as long as the woman has nice legs.
