I seriously thought she looked like a holiday barbie in that white dress. She has a confidence that makes her able to pull off an outfit or bad dress. It make not be the most flattering thing but I always stop looking at the clothing and go to her face. She is an obviously intelligent woman and thats her forte. Not fashion..lol...But she does dress her little girls so cute and I swear it looks like both of them grew 2 inches since november!
But yeh..dress could of been better but the moment seemed too lovely to notice.
The suit could of had a better shape to it. I think she has problems finding things because she has such a large upper body frame. She made Jay Leno look small. It is seriously hard to find clothing when you are a tall wide framed woman. I secretly dont like to shop with friends with that body type because it kinda takes a lot of fitting room crap and FOREVER.
I didn't like the gown, either. It didn't look awful on her -- I couldn't imagine that much would, she's so gorgeous -- but I agree that the fabric was kinda bizarre.
I commented to Mr L. that she looked like a roll of paper towels had been randomly draped on her body. The sketches they were guessing on earlier would have been elegant on her.
Daytime outfit was just okay but the girls were adorable.
I wasn't a fan of either dress. The celery stick dress as I call it... looked like some fabric from pillows my grandmother had 40+ years ago. It was too old fashioned. I liked that she did a white dress for the balls, but the design was bad. It was just too much fabric. Then she had to drag the train around. The one strap came off looking like an after thought. Not sure of the embellishment that looked like hot glued duck feathers. She has a nice body and could have pulled off a more streamlined dress.

I keep thinking of a chenille bedspread.
I loved her daytime outfit tho. Very Classy.
Any other opinions?
Whew! I thought I was the only one. It looked stiff, scratchy and uncomfortable, plus, it made her look shapeless, no contouring anywhere on it. Very grandmotherly. Don't get me wrong, I'm a grandmother, but I don't dress like one--we don't have to. LOL But then, I've never cared for her style of dressing. Her gown was better but I wouldn't have chosen it. I didn't like the one strap look or the top of the dress. I'm very picky about my neckline and such.

Oh I so agree and glad I found this thread!!
I thought the daytime dress...hmmm did the Easter bunnie dress her or did she realize it was almost Mardi Gras time & forgot to add the purple...
Style she does not have...at least not in the caliber of Jackie Kennedy or Nancy Reagan
I'm assuming these outfits/gown looked better in person than on television. I really disliked the old looking gold suit or whatever that was. She is young and has a great body. She could have worn something with more pizzazz.
Then again, if I had to do a parade in THAT weather....I would have worn one of those one piece zippered duck hunter suits.
