Wondering how teen girls and women feel about buying formal, semi-formal, and wedding dresses from consignment shops that specialize in this type of apparel in order to save money.
I have 2 teen daughters still at home, the 15 yo has NO problem with second hand clothing. The 17 yo would NEVER wear it. It not in the genes I guess, but I have no idea why their views are so different. I have no problem with it either.
I've bought all types of stuff on consignment and would do it again in a minute...I bought a gorgeous formal dress for a wedding a couple years ago...what a deal!
i don't like consignment shops. never bought anything in such stores. but i did enter a few a while back with a friend of mine who acted as if she was in a candy store. the smell bothered me to the point i had to leave afraid of i might puke. i don't know what it is, maybe the smell, or the fact that strangers have worn those clothes before...or maybe all of it. but i just don't.
Wedding dress...eeerrrmmm...Well I would rather have a simple homemade one. For other occasions that would be more than fine. I would just be nervous about picking up some bad juju-mojo off that used wedding dress. Yeh I know thats a wierdo thing.
There was an incredible consignment shop on the Island of Palm Beach...in the 80's. Don't know if it is still there...but MAN, gotta love those wear it once people...the prices wear regular consignment retail - no crazy money. No funny smells, either. They don't allow that sort of thing over there...

Ah, just dye it black...everything will be fine. (That was my teenage ambition.)
Does anyone know a consignment shop where I could take my prom/formal dresses to sell them?n I'm in Utah
