I'm married to a great man who dresses well only for church and special events. When going shopping, out for lunch, etc. he wears holey blue jeans and stained shirts. I can't rehabilitate him! Anyone else with this problem?

My SO dresses better than me. I feel like a bag lady next to him. I don't have the style gene that he appears to have.

I think it's all about what you're comfortable in.

Thats when you pull the "Awww the washing machine ate your shirt...the one with the pasta stain..too bad"

Honestly if I put new stuff in any dudes' (s.o., bro, dad) closet they seem to go for the new over the old rags of stuff. Not with jeans though. I think those hold a special kind of voodoo on men. LOL

Just pick the same types of things they already have, but new.

Also load up with compliments when the new stuff goes on. Multiple times at random.

Simple fix. Just dress down to his level and see how long it last before he complains that you look dumpy. Then haul his scurvy butt over to the mirror to tell him that if he wants better then he can give better.

If that fail then flat tell him that you are ashamed of how he looks when you go out of the house. But that a last resort so drop that bomb with great care!

Washer ate it? ha ha. While cleaning out his dresser, I removed all the ragedy tees and tanks and put them in a storage tote--if he doesn't miss them and complain too much, after awhile, the tote contents will magically disappear. Even though I buy nice polo shirts for him, he thinks he needs to "save" them! Jeans and slacks he needs to try on so I can't buy them without him trying them on and he refuses to make time--sigh. I might have to do with without him.

Oh, dear, I just cannot do that. And, he would never complain. Maybe I need to nominate him for TLC's "What Not to Wear"!

I've seen my husband wear a button, beach/Hawaiian type shirts just 2 times the entire we've been together. I'd like to see him wear those more often. They look really awesome on him.

He's always wearing these drabby, dark long sleeve type shirts and dark jeans all the time. He doesn't realize, but he looks great with color on him.

For summer, I like the Hawaiian shirt look, too. Color is nice especially when they are the right colors. Too many men wear drab clothing.
