Since we know no one in NWA this is very important.

Thanks Again!

Ok, here goes: from the ambassdor (well not really) of BV; if you were to buy a home within a couple of minutes of 71, depending on which hospital you chose, it would take between 15 minutes and maybe 25. As for doctors, many are now practicing a couple days a week in BV and the rest of the time, Bentonville or Rogers. We have 2 major hospitals here: NWest and Mercy, both have nice clinics right here, actually on or just off 71. In our case, we use both, depending on our needs. Hubby's cartilogist in connected with NW hospital, my orthopedist is connected with Mercy. I do have to drive to Rogers to see him. Our dermatologist is with both and has an office here, as well as Rogers. So does hubbys urologist. I guess that gives you a start. The oncologist is in Rogers. It takes us about 45 minutes to get there. Even living up in the Highlands, we are not more than 45 minutes from most of the facilities we use.

As for making friends, oh my, if you put an effort out, you will be as busy and involved as you want. It does take developing hobbies, but anything you enjoy is right here. There are fishing groups, quilting, art classes, phonography, any kind of cards you can think of, a gals, monthly outing group and the churches have all kinds of welcoming groups. It doesn't make any difference what religion you are. A lot of the neighborhoods have monthly breakfast get togethers or cook outs. Also there are exercise groups, water walking, water arrobics, etc. As for getting to Fayetteville, figure about 45 minutes, depending on where you live. For us it is closer to 55 minutes or an hour. Bentonville, is just a few minutes if you are close to 71. For us, we figure 30 to 40 minutes, depending on where in Bentonville we are going. To visit granddaughter and family in the northern part of Bentonville it takes us about 25 minutes. To go to the southern end or parts off 71 about 35 to 40 minutes. yesterday, for instance, we left Sams and it took us about 30 minutes to get home.

Well, ultimately what I read was "I need special medical care" and "I like the things offered in NWA regarding activities and environment".

So...verify that this area has the medical care and specialist that you need, and then visit, but it sounds EXACTLY like what you want. My only caution is that this area is hilly. If your wife sticks to the city she is fine, but if she wants to go camping with you, yes, there are a lot of hills.
