Nobodys freaking going to smash your laptop over a sticker in Fayetteville.
We are really off subject but I will make one comment on this: bumper stickers period seem to be a thing of the past. I have seen a couple Hillary stickers, I think one Bernie and handful of Carson this year. That is pretty much it. There was a time when everyone had them.

This is not the first time, I have been ripped off by this kind of "bogus" ticket/fees for at least $500 in the past year.

Luckily, I will leave this horrible place in 2016. I pay $500 for a lesson: Arkansas is for redxxxx only. You had better "go back to where you are from."
Luckily, we will be rid of you in 2016.

I've seen quite a few political bumper stickers. I don't have a CLUE why people would want to make their vehicle stand out in a negative way, though, which is all you're doing when you put a political bumper sticker on it.

I do have a co-worker who has been yelled at before for her political stickers in Springdale. I am not sure what she has, but I think it's a Bernie or Hillary sticker. She has said that her liberal politics have gotten her some flack, and it seems being yelled at is the apex of said flack, from what she told me. This is part of why I avoid bumper stickers like that. Here, you get yelled at. Elsewhere, you get a rock through the windshield maybe.

What may well have happened is you fed the meter, it ran out, and some nice passer-by added some spare change, having not seen that you already had a ticket...and here you are blaming the world for it...but of course, the only possibility you see is the one you want to see...

My kids get asked how they are and how their day was at businesses like grocery stores, banks, and the post office. When we pulled over on the side of the road at night way out in the middle of nowhere to take a picture of the lunar eclipse, someone stopped to see if we were okay. Most parking areas don't have meters and it's fairly easy to get a spot anywhere. We've been here for over 2 years and go everywhere drivable on the weekends... Everywhere! And we've never had any issues. You do have to love nature here. Of course everyone isn't kind, since people are all different with bad apples in every bunch, but there is certainly more hospitality here than big cities. I like it. Bummer about your ticket. I hope you contest it.
I have had a problem with literally 2 people. TWO. One of which, I don't even know who they were, they caused problems for me anonymously. TWO PEOPLE IN ONE YEAR have caused me to wish I could mix fist with face with no repercussions. A whopping two...that's it. To me, that's simply incredible.

How many people can I say have made me smile, and impressed me? I honestly cannot count them.

That said, I moved from a town with horrible race relations. Murdered for being in the wrong area and the wrong color, that sort of thing. It was common place there.

So, one of the things I did even before I moved here, was talk to minorities. Black people, by and large, are the minority here, based on all of the data I've seen, so they are who I talked to.

Two things stood out to me.

Number one, they treated me like any other person, and not "suspiciously", like they would where I used to live. They didn't think I was trying to start things with them when I said "Hey, man, nice IROC, I had a buddy with one of those, that's a blast from the past!" and started a conversation. Where I'm from, that would either get me ignored, or have started something, potentially.

The second thing I noticed was that NONE of them had ANYTHING negative to say about the area, regarding race. The closest I got was "Yeah, it's nice here, but maannnn...you go a little East, that's where the Klan is. I stay away from there."

I really cannot get over how color-blind the area is. Is it perfect? Have I seen/heard racist things? Yeah, I sure have. But I haven't seen anyone's car get shot up because they were White/Black and in the wrong neighborhood. I haven't seen gangs messing with people of opposite color, unless you count AN going head to head with MS13, but that's about a lot of things, not just color, and it's rare here, more or less. I bet most of you don't even have any experience with that sort of activity in this area, for that matter.

Long story short? If you find color a problem here, it's because you brought it with you. Considering the first post in this thread contains a racial slur, I think we know who the problem is, OP...

I had a couple of incidents in Fayetteville when I had a human rights campaign sticker on my car, getting yelled at once and having a guy come up and start taping on it and asking me questions in an aggressive manner a gas station. Still, considering we are in Arkansas, I was very impressed that I could even openly display an HRC sticker and pretty much be left alone about it.
When I got a nicer car I didn't want the hassle. Been thinking about getting another pistol and a finally getting my CCW though.
I'm in Springdale a lot and I think I have seen more Bernie stickers than anything there.

This sounds like a complete First World Problem.

Overtime Parking Ticket: $10 (first offense) $15 (second offense) $25 (third offense)

Takes a certain kind of entitlement to rack up $500 in parking fines in a year in F'ville.

Judging by your screen-name, choice in bumper stickers, and the fact that you don't seem to feel like this area is such a terrible place, I'd wager that OP has some serious personal issues. Unless of course you pass the "look" test very well. Then I guess it doesn't matter, casually out in public?
