I may need to move to the bentonville area for job reasons. My family would remain behind in dallas due to school commitments. It isn't an ideal situation but we do what we can do.

I would try to get home as much as possible but flights are very expensive. I would need a 1 bedroom apartment that is clean and safe. I was hoping to spend no more than $700/mo. I've read apartment reviews and it is hard to tell what is good in terms of the management, other renters, cleanliness and safety.

I welcome any thoughts or recommendations.

It's not Dallas. At $700/month for a 1 bedroom, it will be clean and safe wherever you rent.

Try Bella Vista instead for a condo rental. They are usually nicer than regular apartments. Here is one for $700/month...one advantage is that is has a washer and dryer already in the unit. 25 Nantucket Dr, Bella Vista AR, 72714 | Homes.com

Oh I haven't considered the waiting lists. Thanks for the Bella vista suggestion. Washer and dryer in unit is a plus. I'm moving forward in my interviews. Ideally would find something in dallas but so far that has been difficult. Walmart manufacturers usually have openings.

My coworker's family lives in Dallas. He's lived in this area on his own for 4 years and travels to dallas once or twice a month to see his wife and kid. This week they are staying with him in Bentonville.

For some reason the family doesn't want to relocate here.

I don't know why anyone would choose Dallas over NWA, but different strokes for different folks. Guess it's a good thing for NWA that everyone doesn't want to live there!

I had to call a few, but managed to get a 1 bedroom 500sq foot washer/drier included for $385/mo within a week of my search beginning, when I moved here last year, right off of 102 in Bentonville.

just as an additional data point, my daughter was looking at some apartments in fayetteville for next semester and there was a one bedroom with included utilities and internet for about $550 per month.

It was so much nicer and cheaper than staying in the dorm for her and compared to my college facilities so may years ago I would have to say kids are living in the lap of luxury these days.
