My wife and I are moving in the next month and a half and have narrowed it down between Fayetteville and the Mobile/Daphne, Alabama area. Can anyone sell me on Fayetteville over the other area. We've visited Fayetteville several times and loved it each time, however, everytime we visit the beach we love it too. Has anyone lived in the Mobile area and can compare the two? I know it's completely different, mountainous vs the beach, but we're really struggling in committing to either one and I would really appreciate any input. Thank you.

I have never been stuck in a hurricane in Fayetteville. It is probably less humid in Fayetteville as well.

It looks like crime is worse in Moblie, but the index has been getting better in Mobile and worse in Fayetteville, so that might be a push in a few years. One thing to consider is diversity. In the cities around Fayetteville you will get mostly white with hispanics in Springdale. In Mobile it will be pretty much half white half black.

You will have to deal with tourists in Mobile during the summer. You will have to deal with college students in the fall/spring in Fayetteville. Pick your poison.

Just because I have lived in NWA all my life, I would rather live in Mobile. I bet the people there would rather live in Fayetteville.
