Should i give up and choose another class or should i give it a try.

I am more of a hands on person. There is also a beginning ceramic and also a beginning sculpture class. Should i take one of those instead? Are they harder than drawing?

Something can be learned from either one. Hard to say what is harder or easier as it is up to the individual and what they have a knack for- even if they have never done something, it's how you find out.

Drawing, however, is the starting point for all art mediums, then comes color and composition.
One thing to keep in mind about drawing, do not get frustrated if your drawings do not look like photographs....that's not what drawing is about.

Are you an art student? I don't know if I would bother with a drawing class if I wasn't in the art program. Drawing is the foundation to all other art classes in my opinion.

A drawing class, regardless of the degree, fulfills the general education requirement for humanities. So if one wants to explore art, the type of degree a student is going for should not matter.

Well the drawing professor has good reviews. The ceramic class is full already The Sculpture class has a 21% withdrawal rate so even though i thought i would do better taking that class than drawing, it seems the professor is stricter. The Drawing class only has a 4% withdrawal rate. I think i might give the drawing class a try.

Like you guys say, drawing is the foundation of the visual arts. So its important to knockw the fundamentals.

I don't know guys my drawing skills are horrible. Will i be graded on my skills or my improvement.

I am more of a practical kind of guy but have nothing against visual expression.

Okay here is the deal. 1. Drawing is basically the ability to capture images like a camera. But with your hands. 2. You can rent out an art studio ( this comes with no bathroom/kitchen ) and is usually for photographers; painters, and so forth to have the CORRECT enviorment to work in. Artist ( like myself ) are not meant to work in closed spaces. Your suppose to have a big space; not a small space. 3. Anybody can draw it depends on how much effort you put into your work. Their is a wide variety of imagery used by many artists. Just keep mastering the pencil ( various kinds ) and it should click. 4. Drawing is healthy and natural. Trust me on this. Their is nothing else more peaceful then drawing. After doing it for sometime you will get a taste for it. The best kind of drawing is inside of colleges' where you can find a different kind of artist with an backstory. Their are also neighbor hood artists as well.

So if you have the money why not enjoy some drawing classes. It will make you realize how pathetic everything else in the world. Seriously it is a lot of responsibility.
