Any suggestions on an area to take the family. My kid's have never seen and or experienced snow. I wanted to take them up the Flagstaff area during the Christmas holiday.

Not really interested in Skiing, but would love to take them snow tubing or sleding. Thanks!

First thing is to watch the forecast. 10 Day Weather Forecast for Flagstaff, AZ (86001) - weather.com

Beyond that, I'm of no help....

Thanks for the suggestion. Not being familiar with the area I wasn't sure where to start.

Since this is expected to be a relatively dry winter, and you are looking at a confined time period, it's entirely possible that there won't be any snow. If there is, I found this link that might be helpful: http://www.arizona-leisure.com/arizo...-sledding.html

There's a little bit of weather (snow) in the extended forecast models - 10 to 16 days out - which would mean right around Christmas. These models are not terribly reliable though, so hold off on the snowshoes for now.

That's a great link you posted . I'm excited my kids current vision of snow is sleet and hail I just want them to see what its like to get hit by a snowball...and more.

Crossing my fingers, anything is better than what we get in our area. We're taking our family dog (Brussels Griffon) is it ok to have him out there with us outdoors. Any suggestions or precautions to take?

Thanks EVERYONE!

Your dog will be fine; if it really is snowy, I wouldn't leave him on the snow for prolonged periods... perhaps you can find him some boots if the snow plan does come to pass!

If your dog lives in a warm climate (which I'm assuming he does based on the fact that your kids have never seen snow) he won't have developed the winter coat he needs for spending much time outside, I'd get him a coat at some place like Petsmart. My small dog wears one in Sedona all winter long.

PS if you have an Olsen's where you live, I just got a great dog coat there at 50% off.

Should be I concerned about driving in the snow? Doe's the area require snow tires or chains? We had a trip last year to Oregon shortened because of this. THANKS!

Thanks for the link, one thing did come to mind will there be anyone else out there with pets? I didn't see anyone with a dog out in the snowplay pictures of the park. I'd hate to have to crate our little guy while we are out for the afternoon
