Has anyone out there been through a "short sale" for a house in the Clarkdale, Sedona, or Verde Valley area? I know these take time, but I need info on the specifics of the process. I made an offer on a property and instead of a written counter, the realtor of the bank just sent a letter asking my realtor if we were willing to go up in price. Are verbal offers or letters trying to cajole us into a higher price before the bank is even contacted the standard process? Also, they say there is a mysterious "investor" in the shadows that the realtor says may not accept the offer even if the bank does.
