Hopefully Flag wont lose it's charm and hopefully the homes wont be of the cookie cutter, brown stucco variety like in Chandler and Gilbert. Acre upon acre of the ugliest friggin homes I've ever seen.

Flagstaff's typical sprawl homes look a lot more similar to the architectural style you'd see in the mountains of Colorado than anything in metro Phoenix.

Methinkest someone has been drinking copiously at the Chamber of Commerce KoolAid concession.

4500 new homes on 800 acres? Really? At $350,000 to $450,000 a pop? Just what I always wanted. An overpriced box on a postage stamp lot with rising interest rates and a faltering economy. Hmmm. I'll pass.

Using the traditional 3Xincome for home affordability, are there really 4500 home hunters in the $115,000 to $150,000 income bracket looking to buy all these new homes? I'm betting no, but don't let me pee in the punch bowl. I'm just standing by with my usual bowl of popcorn. Let the show begin!

I too am wondering where these upper middle class home owners are going to work? As much as I love it, Flag isn't exactly a hotbed of industry and technology. Perhaps they're in the process of trying to lure companies to setup shop???

Hey, maybe one or two of those "500 jobs" created will be in the six-figures. Gotta have a few upper management types to keep the rabble "on task", donchaknow.

from what I understand Flag does not have the acreage for that many homes . nor is there ample water supply to sustain that amount of people .

I think for the people concerned this will somehow "ruin" flagstaff, re-read the article. The development will be new urbanist which means interconnected neighborhoods, wide sidewalks and parks fostering a sense of community and shopping at the edge of the development. That means fewer cars driving up and down Butler, less pollution...
