Hi,

My wife and I spend 2/3 months a year in Sedona ... amongst the many reasons we do so is my passion for anything automotive, and in this case off roading. I have a Raptor that I store locally year round just so I have it available every time I visit.

Over the last couple of trips I have been exploring many back country areas in the area, including the whole mormon lake/munds park area, the trails NW of slide rock park, Jerome, Perkinsville, Wilson, Prescott, Bumblebee, etc. It's been a blast but I'm reaching the limits off what I feel comfortable doing on my own. I do have all the requisite gear and electronics with me but at some point it's good to have at least one other vehicle just in case. Plus it'd be nice to hook up with people with local knowledge. For example I'm contemplating Casner Mountain trail but I don't know if the Raptor would fit or if it's more Jeep territory, plus that's not a trip that I'd make on my own.

Anyhoot, I was just wondering if there are folks locally that share this passion and would enjoy going on some runs, or if anyone knows of any local off roading clubs that I could look into.

Thanks.

I've done Casner mtn. It is by permit only and only for certain times of the year. However, vehicles 48" or less are allowed to do it any time w/o permit. They can fit by the locked gate. Not sure how wide a Raptor is.

I'm local to the area, I only know of one offroad club in the Verde Valley and I'm not sure they are active. Never hear of them doing any trails. I looked into joining, but they were more into rougher trails than I am interested in.

Also, I think that Social Media has killed off a lot of the clubs. People just post up between friends to do a trail.

Check out Offroad Passport if that site is allowed. Lots of folks in the Jeep community out here, not so sure about full size trucks. Some of the trails are just...not conducive?

I'm a member of Off-road passport. I do most of my wheeling with them. Good group
