Good afternoon,

With all required COVID precautions taken, would mid September be a good time for a quick visit to check out the Flagstaff area? We just need to drive around the area for a day or two to see if it has the look and feel of an area we're looking for as a possible retirement destination 10 years or so down the road.

Our current plan is to find a place for mostly a summer home with travel in the winter so we really want to see what it's like in the summer. Obviously 2 days isn't enough but I think it will give us a feel for if we want to keep Flagstaff on our list of areas to keep researching.

Are there enough restaurants open for take out, parks open, etc? Don't need to do any shopping.

Thanks

Yea it should be. Flagstaff is some of the most pleasant weather you are gonna get in AZ at this point. But be warned it gets very busy with tourist traffic.

I do think its a nearly perfect spot to buy a home as a part time traveler tho. Because if you choose to AirBnb the house there is year round tourists to rent it.

Is this true, and has Covid impacted this at all? I am thinking of investing in a vacation home in Flagstaff, but am wondering about this aspect of the purchase.

I may have to take more trips to Flagstaff to look for a second vacation home.

Cant say for certain. Just have thought about flag as a good part time residence. Between the college, winter sports and people escaping heat in the summer you could rent it no problem on Airbnb I would imagine.
