I've never had a problem with rust, living on an island...there's always that green stuff around the battery terminals but, I have a new, big scratch, on my driver's side that I think I might have done when opening the door to get out & put gas in/not realizing how close to the pole I was....well, I have not yet touched it up and it is not rusting at all? I don't stress over scratches anymore....used to but gave up....and so I have less of them....I don't know, Murphy's Law!

I'm sure with good, proper maintenance, like regular waxings and armor-all, etc, a Florida car wil last way longer then a NY car. In a NY winter, you can easily have over 300 pounds of salty, dirty ice attached to the underside of your car.....not to mention what the potholes do.

On a still, quiet winter night in NY...if you listen real carefully, you can hear your car rust away...........

We haven't had any problems with our car and we've owned it for 5 years. It's never been kept in the garage (have too much other stuff in there to fit it). I do agree with the other poster about the color. We had a black car for 3 years and we did notice it faded a bit over the years. We have a car and a van, both silver, no rust, no cracking. We do Armor All once a month, but that's just regular maintenance for us.
