Very sad. This is the second mass-shooting in Florida in just one single week, after the massacre in Riviera Beach.

Two killed, five injured in shooting spree in SE Gainesville

Quote:
Seven people were shot -- two fatally -- in an apparent random shooting spree that began about 4 p.m. Monday in southeast Gainesville.

The first one in Riviera Beach was not a random spree. It was domestic related. In fact, it appears to me that domestic violence and murder is on the rise, while random crime is generally down.

I am from Buffalo, NY and I am looking to move to either Gainesville or Jacksonville. How bad is the crime in Gainseville? Where are the high crime neighborhoods located? From the little biit I've read on these forums it sounds like its best to stay away from the east side. But what about the west side?
