Hi, I've lived in Spring Hill for 7 years. This is a very racially diverse area. I have three kids in school - two elementary and one high school, and all of their classes have been largely made up of non-whites. Seriously, this is true - black, hispanic, mixed. I would not hesitate to move here because of race.

If you're looking, there are some key neighborhoods to look at - Preston Hollow (extremely quiet, mostly 1/2 acre lots, right near Suncoast Parkway that leads directly to Tampa), Pristine Place (huge community but gated), Silverthorn (golf community, gated, higher-end). I think you'll be happier to be in a community which has sidewalks and some deed restrictions. Just my two cents! Good luck!

I am from California, lived in Oceanside. Lov Cali. SH has many different races residing here, more and more middle easterners are building mosques and homes here. Black and white and others, no problems. Wages are VERY low here, in fact jobs are almost non-existent now. Our college Grads are working in fast food. SH has nothing for anyone to do except eat, go to the show and shop at Wal-mart. The schools are rated among the lowest in the nation. Catholic Churches & schools are plentiful, as well as other denominations. I would move today if I had a job to go to.

If you like the Springhill area and the hubby has a decent job offer there send him off to aquire the job and to make sure its fulltime longterm and he likes it as it would be quite an upheaval in your life to pack up and leave California for Springhill only to discover the job didnt pan out.
Dont worry about the kid fitting into school,he'll do fine..
