I'm just wondering what are some good areas to live in Florida for a young guy. Let's say me and either 2 or 3 other guys would be living out there together and we would probably be willing to pay around $800 to $1,000 at the very most a person per month but the lower the rent the better. We all are majoring in business (either Finance or Accounting) so job opportunities are a big plus. Also, looking for the safest place possible and preferably a beach city. Is there any places that fit all this criteria?

For your price range you'll have many good options. I would look into Tampa Bay, South Florida, Fort Myers-Naples, and Jacksonville for best deals with good nightlife for young guys.

Naples is a very nice city, and I visit my uncle and aunt there. However, I wouldnt recommend it to a recent college grad. It is for old rich people.

There's one choice meeting your criteria of decent job availability relative to the rest of the state...as well as being coastal, singles friendly and on the safe side.

Jacksonville.

When did Jacksonville get to be safe?

Jacksonville or Tampa/St. Pete seem like the obvious choices based on your limited wants you listed.

On the safe side. It doesn't have a Miami-like reputation, particularly on the south-side. Have you been robbed or assaulted there lately?
