Any Florida native here moved from Florida to the west coast? How did you like it? Tell me your story.

I'm planning a move to CA sometime after the summer from Orlando. I just wanted to know (from a Floridian perspective) how did you like it? And what kind of things should I prepare for. Even if you just visited California (or anywhere in the west), leave your opinions down. Thanks.

Never lived there myself but have taken about ten trips there...loved the weather, the people and the diverse scenery with many micro climates and terrains much more. Has more of a can do business climate with many well educated ambitious people in many industries with so many more opportunities we just do not have down here. The issues are quite different from FL and think I would prefer being out there to most any place east of Denver except maybe Chicago but business and family keep me here... If you like February weather down here you will get it out there year long.. Home prices in closer in commutable parts of LA,SD and SF are still quite high in good areas probably your biggest hurdle but Sacramento to me is the sleeper worth checking out if you want to be a homeowner though there are still many affordable homes out in Riverside and San Bernardino counties but that is quite a haul and high temps rise into the 90's in summer though because it cools off at night and the humidity is low so not comparable to FL either..
